Access Research on Child Development
Spurring yesterday's post about avoiding the expense of original research where possible when crafting your investment strategies, a great site produced by Child Trends, which summarizes existing research on programs designed to improve children's development. Search by key word or category among the following:
Child Care/Early Childhood Education
Clinic-Based, Provider-Based, or Miscellaneous
Community or Media Campaign
Counseling/Therapy
Home Visiting
Mentoring/Tutoring
Parent or Family Component
School-Based
Service or Vocational Learning
What I really like is that Child Trends not only compiled the data and made it easily accessible, they are even advertising its availability in a nice-sized ad in Youth Today. Time's too short, need too great, resources too limited to recreate any wheels. Piaget (pictured) nailed it years ago -- move on!
