Who is doing great work on the environment?

Admittedly a vast oversimplification but, according to folks I met with at the David and Lucile Packard Foundation this week, here's where wealthy donors are investing to environmental issues :

For the ultra high net worth set, it is The Energy Foundation;

For the radical set, it's the Rainforest Action Network; and

For the intellectual set, it's the Environmental Defense Fund
