Peace Corps Pursuing Baby Boomers Too!

peace corp2.jpg According to the New York Times (11/23/2007), the Peace Corp is looking to have at least 15% of its volunteers be age 50 or over by 2009.

In a related blog post, which discusses response to his column encouraging U.S. students to take a "gap year", Times columnist Nicholas D. Kristof writes:

And for those who can do it, the Peace Corps is wonderful. But the real secret is that although it was intended as a magnanimous program to help poor countries, the biggest beneficiaries are the Americans who have served in it.

What will you do in the new year?
